What a gift to sit at Randy Woodley’s feet and learn to be a better human being, more connected to earth and my fellow sacred human and non human beings. It is meant to be read slowly, pondered upon. For more information, contact Michael Heumann. invites us to live out a deeply spiritual relationship with the whole community of creation and with Creator. This is a book with 100 daily, simple reflections on sacred, indigenous wisdom. We will be forming a book group (kickoff meeting January 18) to support us in the meditations, and ideas for reflection and action contained in the book. Reconnecting with the earth is not a quick thing, and I appreciate the small daily steps. This event is being hosted by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and will be recorded. This book is artfully crafted as 100 days of short readings. The book raises awareness of the sacredness of Earth, as well as deals with themes related to the continuing impacts of colonization of indigenous lands that grew out of the Doctrine of Discovery. Woodley, a Cherokee descendant, co-directs the Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice Partnership, which is part of the Eloheh Farm located here in Oregon that teaches about regenerative agricultural practices. You are invited to hear Randy Woodley speak about his newly released book Becoming Rooted: One Hundred Days of Reconnecting With Sacred Earth.
